Can someone tell how much of a difference in quality between kuryakan and Harley parts. The reason i ask this is i'm thinking of adding an inner primary cover. The price difference is big.Would the kuryakynbe as cheap looking as the price.thanks
The only neagtive comments I've ever heard concerned mirrors. Some have reported the holes in the control end of the stem are easy to strip the threads on.
I've had no problems with any of the kuryakyn parts I've actually bought myself.

funny you ask cause it was just yesterday i was talking to parts guy at my local dealer and he said " we are out of stock on the Kuryakyn primary cover but I'll tell ya something; Kuryakyn makes the HD inner primary cover for us and we have it in stock"
Don't know about the primary cover. But, I've bought Kuryakyn stuff before. Chrome frame covers are excellent. Fat Boy fender edge covers were excellent except the front fender front edge. It wasn't a very good fit.
I'm sure if this what you were asking, But the HD chrome inner primary is just that. It is the actual inner that has been chromed and you pull off the primary and install. The Kuryakyn chrome inner primary Cover is just that. A COVER that bolts over your existing inner primary and covers the painted area, doesn't actually replace it. My pic below shows the Kuryakyn cover on my fatboy. Honestly some people like it, and some don't care for it. I don't think they look bad, but honestly when I go big on the motor and have the inner off I am thinking about using the actual chrome innner. Hope this helps!
If your looking for a good price on HD parts such as the inner primary etc.. I just purchased mine from MandMcycles.com, he gave a really good price on the a new outer and an Inner with all of the gaskets all HD parts and I think everything came to $580.00, Check'em out he will also give 15 to 20% off of parts from Kury, Drag, CC, and many other catalogs.
Just my opinion but there is nothing close to HD chrome quality. It takes abuse and polishes right back to perfect. I really like the chrome quality on my VH pipes but still not close to HD's.

Just about any product (with the exception of parts from V-Twin) are better than Harley MoCo's imported crap, IMHO. You are just paying more for the name. I never buy anything other than nuts, bolts, and some gaskets from the stealership. I buy almost everything I need from J&P Cycles. Great products, support, and prices! Custom Chrome isn't that bad, either. They both carry the higher quality brand name parts.
