New Bike - 8408 FFXST
The winter mods are done. I present here: an 8408 FFXST
An 8408 FFXST is a 1984 - (the first year)Softail done in 2008 which has been fitted with an inverted front end and a double-disc Fat Front tire, hence FF.
The engine puts out about 90 at the rear wheel (all S&S inside, Evo 5 cam, flowed heads, etc, etc.)
Rev Tech PanHead 4-speed roller bearing transmission.
Advanced Racing Technology hydraulic clutch.
3" BDL belt drive primary (chain secondary in years '84 and '85.)
Carlini torque arm
S&S shorty E
Thunderheader exhaust.
Ultima inverted front end.
13" 1 1/2" apes, internal wiring.
18" Performance Machine 20-spoke solid wheels. (3.50 front, 4.25 rear)
FXR style front wheel with double disc
(3) 4-piston calipers.
PM controls all the way around.
140 Avon Venom front/ 150 Avon Venom rear.
The bike rides beautifully now - no more "pushing" off the old 21" 90mm tire.
Braking is superb! It's now a match for the go-power which cost ten thousand +.
