Hi all. Any suggestions for a realtively econimical (haha) toolkit to work on my new prize with? My budget is not too much, but I don't want to end up with **** *** tools. Craftsman, or what brand, maybe from amazon.com. Someone point me in the right direction please. I have an 02 FLSTFI. I'll try to post a pic here now. Thanks for any help or suggestions. I cant take it to the dealer for the prices they charge. If you cant fix it you shouldnt be able to ride it.
Snap-On all the way. Craftsman tools are good, but every year they seem to get thicker and clumsier. Look around on eBay and you can usually find some deals. You'll need a few combination wrenches, an Allen Wrench set (I bought that at Sears), some Torx screwdrivers. I have a 10-in-1 Screwdriver from Klein Tools that I like. It's not a good heavy shop tool, but out on the road it's rugged enough and damn handy.
Oh yeah, those tools and my Leatherman are all I need on the road.
i carry much the same. I carry a ratchet, allen sockets, torx sockets, crescent wrench, mult-screw driver, pliers, multi tool, assorted wire connectors/fuses, wire, spark plug socket, assorted bolts and nuts and locktite. It sounds like a lot but it really isn't. Easily fits in a tool bag.....and of course a cell phone
you can buy a pretty complete kit, to carry on your bike, on ebay for about $30.00, comes in a nice pouch. has torx, allen, adjustable wrench, screw drivers and spark plug socket along with some other tools. has for building a set of tools for your home for working on your bike id go with all craftsman, good tools but nowhere as costly as snapon or mac. i have them all, mac, snapon, matco and craftsman. i have no complaints about craftsman. but the tool kit i bought on ebay to carry on my bike is, as i said, pretty complete.
Bought a Wind Zone tool pouch and tools, spark plug sockets, torx, screw drivers, extra light tail light, pliers, allen wrenchs on E-Bay.Paid 45$ plus 8$ shipping.Wind Zone site advertises for over 70$.Fits inside H.D.tool bag and teardrop tool box, looks good on left side of my Fatboy. You may also want to consider a flat repair kit with co2.
Gotta have a crushed aluminum can for under the kickstand on those hot summer days, or if you have to park somewhere other than asphalt. It may not be a tool, but can prevent you from having to use them to replace parts that get ruined by a falling bike.
