Big John. I'm 6'5" and have a LePera BareBones on my 07 FatBoy. It does sit me down and back, maybe a little more than the Brawler...plus a great product at a low price.
If you are looking for a seat that will sit you lower and back further check out C & C www.ccseats.com they have a couple of solos the " Lo pro" is one that will lower you by at least an inch and back over an inch. I have the "Fastback" on my bike and IMHO they are more comfortable than the HD seats and less $.
recently bought a cobin hollywood solo for my 07 night train...i'm also short, so i was looking for a lower seat...it does seat you lower, but also farther back, which is not good for me... also it's wider at the front so i lost the advantage of being lower... (not using it)... also it costs a lot of $$$... specially to get it shipped to puerto rico... so except for the price, might be a good choice for those of you that are not vertically challenged...
Here's an update on my brawler solo. I went for a ride on Saturday and did over 100 miles. I was able to ride comfortable with no problems. I sit lower and closer to the handlebars. I haven't change the stock position on my handlebars because they feel just right. I cleaned up the rear tin of the plastic guard. I haven't decided whether I'll get a fender bib. I will place some type of fabric or leather strip when I put the passenger pillion on. Overall I'm happy with the brawler setup.
I received my brawler solo seat w/ pillion from the local HD dealer. It sits lower and narrower compared to the stock seat. I'm 5'6" and have a 30 inch inseam. When I sit on the bike my feet are flat on the ground. Before the seat I was considering a lowering kit but don't need it for that reason.
What seat did your bike come with originally? I just installed a Brawler custom solo on my Night Train (also a Softail). Compared to the stock Badlander seat it is exactly the same height and moved me back about 1/2 inch. I'm 6'1" with 34" inseam.
My FB came with the stock seat. It was higher and wider (check out my SIG pic) as opposed to the brawler solo which sits me lower and it's narrower.
Yes, I understood that from your first post when you stated "It sits lower and narrower compared to the stock seat." My question is, WHAT stock seat? For example, the stock seat on my NT is the Badlander. I'm just trying to better understand the various H-D seat profiles.

Mr. Lucky,
It's the 2 piece, 2 up softail classic seat with the removable passenger pillion.
HD website has all the information that I think you are looking for. If you search for 2008 motorcycles - softail - NT - features and specs - select feature catagory - ride - you can highlight the ride tab and click on the blinking + sign on the seat and it will give you a brief description (1 piece, 2-up badlander seat). You can do that with all of the motorcycles. This should give you more insight concerning all the HD seat profiles.
