WOW....I had some yamahas 25 yrs ago but this is a bike. I've got an 06 Deuce with SE A/C, supertrapp mean mother exhaust and the HD D/L. What a trip!!!!!! I did notice some popping on decel. I'm guessing this is caused by the drag pipes? Is there anyway to eliminate the popping? It's not real bad but I do hear it. I wish I would have read more on this site before I got the exhaust but what's done is done. Would lollipops or Big City Thunder help? Or do I need a SERT or TFI? Thanks
I can't help ya with the poping noise, but I can relate to the feeling of being on a Harley for the first time. I started out on a Suzuki about 26 years ago then had to lay off for awhile. Last year I got my first Harley and I couldn't stop smiling. What a great way to have a good time. Enjoy the ride
oldude, it sounds like your download for your FI is not giving you the correct fuel curve for your combination. I don't know if you're too rich or too lean, but from other more tech-savy folks on this site, you would benefit from a SERT (or similar product) with a dyno tune. Seems like some bikes respond fine to the factory downloads, others it just isn't quite right. Do some reading in the tech forums for more info.
oldude, I know what you mean. I just got my 06 deuce about a month ago and there is a big difference between this and the vstar I had. I have not bought pipes yet because of insurance and tag and title cost, I hope to get some new pipes within the month. As far as the popping, it would not bother me because atleast I would be able to hear it!
My first time on a Harley came about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I've owned Yamaha and Suzukis in the past, but as I pulled out of the lot at the Harley dealer, I looked down at the tank were it says Harley Davidson and all I could do was smile. Best feeling in the world.[sm=happy046.gif]
get the SE race tuner. i had the download done on mine, and was still lean. i now have the race tuner and the bike runs MUCH BETTER! throttle response seams better as well. i know they are $$$ but it's a good investment
I may have to get the SERT (that'll make the wife happy) I'm wondering if the HD bulliten for replacing the stock injectors with the CVO ones would help out or if my bike would even qualify for them.
