Default Swapping handlebars on a 2008 fatboy, HELP!!!

Got a set of Chubby's, before I go and take things apart I have a couple of questions:

I am guessing the wires will disconnect from the hand controls and the cablesslide out of the middle hole, is this correct or should I look at disconnecting from the other end?

Is there a tutorial anywhere of how to aproach this or is it easier that I think?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike

I installed a set of chubby drag bars on my 2000 springer the best way is not to screw with the wires on the hand cointrol(switch end)
I took apart the plugs on the other end marking down what wire went where then I pulled the wires through from the switch end and re-assembled the plugs http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r..._b4/ride08.jpg

I taped all theholes closed but the 2 I was working on and sucked a string through with a vacumme cleaner then I tied a pulling wire through the bars with the string, then I taped my harness wires to the pulling wire
then I used dish detergent a rubbed it on my wire casing and pulled the harness through.
you gotta take your time and slowly work the harness along the inside of the bars

Man, that is great information my brothers. I can see now how it is done, great links!!!

One more question... is the left grip glued on or will it slide out somehow?

Thanks!

Mike

It's glued on, if you don't need it you can cut it off, if you do need it try shooting some penetrating lube under it and just start working it. Worst case if you can't get it off and ruin it I think replacement stocks are less than 20 bucks through a catalog like JP or Dennis Kirk.

as far as the left grip, I heated it up with a hair dryer and twisted it off by hand
