Rocker stage 1
I have Vance and Hines Big Radius pipes on the way along with Big City Thunder baffles and a SE Heavy Breather intake.My question is if everyone is going with a tune or fuelpak on this setup?I have been told by a couple of different people that on the 2008's with O2 sensors, that it is possible to not need either option. I was advised that I could try and run it without and see if I have problems with popping and hiccuping and if problems arrise, then add the tune or fuelpak.Can anyharm be done by trying this?Is anyone running a similar setup with sucess?What are your thoughts?Thanks!
I used a fuel pak with my heritage with V&\\;H pipes and K&\\;N filter set up. It worked well but when the XiED from nightrider.com came out I bought and installed a set and they helped cool the bike dramatically. Fuel pak works during open loop for the 07, 08 bikes which is 50% to full throttle. The XiED or IED works during closed loop which is from idle to 50% throttle. \\;No more high heat at stoplights.

I put Big Radius pipes on my Rocker along with the 103in stage 2 kit and the bike runs great. \\; I had HD do their download for the 103 kit and then put the pipes on myself and have had no problems. \\; I just cut the baffles in 1/2 and the bike sounds awesome. \\; Good luck
I have also heard that the '08's ECM are able to self adjust, but I don't know how much they can adapt or if this is even true.
 \\;
Does anyone have the definitive answer to this? \\; I'm sure that if it can adapt, the aftermarket suppliers wouldn't be too happy.

I've done a lot of reading on ECM's and think I am leaning toward the Thundermax. \\; It has the ability to adjust to \\;whatever setup you have (pipes, AC, cams, etc) plus it can adjust for whatever riding conditions (temperature, elevation etc) you have. \\; It costs a lot more than the others (SERT, fuelpac, PCIII etc.) \\; but does not need dyno tuning no matter how many times you change your setup. \\; Change your \\;setup more than once and it pays for itself. \\;

Keith, I got a shop in Kileen TX ready to install the PCIII into a Rocker C - a first for them!!

Greetings,

My stealer told me the same thing about the ECM. I went about 200 miles on new pipes and the air cleaner kit only to be about cooked on the seat from the heat, along with it running sluggish. So today I had the Stage 1 download done and the bike has more power, runs cooler, starts easier, and just plain sounds better. Definitely do at least the download from the stealer if not the Thundermax.
