Default RE: Trade for a Honda

I did look at Hondas. I was thinking about the VTX 1800. Money and all that. The Honda dealer wouldn't let me test ride one. Said they had no bikes to ride. The Factory didn't give them bikes for test rides.

Clearly, I thought that was bull.

Then the salesman told me he had a Harley. Lots of the Honda guys there had Harleys.

I went and bought my Soft-tail Custom.

Had the '02 VTX 1800 w/V&amp\\;S Long Shots staggered. Loved the bike but never could quite get that potato potato sound. (2 plugs per cylinder just dont cut it). As much as&nbsp\\;I liked the Honda, it will never ever be a Harley. BTW bought it in 02 for $12K and sold it in 08 for $5K. I considered that a good deal on that bike.

So I finally got the real deal in&nbsp\\;06 FLHTCI and its younger sibling the 08 FXCWC.

Ain't looking back got what I wanted and need.

I never really wanted a motorcycle, but I've always wanted a Harley.

I don't look down on people who ride metrics.&nbsp\\; I however wouldn't be caught riding one.&nbsp\\; There is something special about riding a Harley.&nbsp\\; It's history, mystique, feels solid and you can really tell the difference between the bikes.
&nbsp\\;
Compare the chrome between the two.
&nbsp\\;
Anyway poor dude would feel like an *** if he saw all this.

Last time I took the advanced rider course there was this guy on a suzuki C90 that spent the whole day trying to convince me that I paid to much for just a name and how much a better value his bike was. He just would not let&nbsp\\;it rest until I finaly told him that he was beating a dead horse and that he should just give it up because he was starting to **** me off. He spent the rest of the day sulking about it.&nbsp\\; I am generally a live and let live kind of guy, but he just would not shut up and after six hours it just got kind of old. Ride safe.

Another interesting fact.&nbsp\\; As some of you have probably read, I work in Milwaukee, however, I live in the great city of Charlotte, NC.
&nbsp\\;
I had a guy ask me what the ratio of rice bowl bikes to Harleys down in NC.&nbsp\\; Funny question?&nbsp\\; Not really, if you look around in NC, you would probably notice about a 50-50 split between the two.&nbsp\\; If you look around in Milwaukee, you would probably see about a 95% to 5% Harley to metrics.&nbsp\\; When I asked about it, the guy just looked at me and said for the same reason people in Milwaukee drink Miller as oppose to Bud.
&nbsp\\;
Support the locals.&nbsp\\; I couldn't agree more.

I bought a Honda Saber (Shadow 1100). It looked like a Fatboy and I was always getting comments like,
"Nice looking Harley",&nbsp\\; "Is that a FatBoy?".&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; It had the custom flame paint scheme that you could get from
Honda. People would always ask how much the custom paint job cost me.&nbsp\\; I would tell them $8000.&nbsp\\; Of course,
I didn't always say that price included the bike. LOL&nbsp\\; After riding it for 2 years and spending several thousand dollars more,
&nbsp\\;I decided that as great a bike as it was it was NEVER, EVER, going to be what I really wanted. No matter what exhaust I
put on it, it always sounded horrible. I finally put the stock exhaust back on it, and sold it. That was AFTER I bought the Deuce.
I've be quite happy ever since. And, yes, I yet again spent 'a few' thousand on a bike but it's the bike that I want.
&nbsp\\;
The funny thing is, this is not my first Harley. I was trying to be practical and logical when I bought the Honda. Geez, I sure
should have known better. If ya want a Harley, buy one. There ain't nothin practical about it.&nbsp\\; LOL

The chrome on your Harley cost more than his whole damn bike.&nbsp\\; Blind him as you drive away.
