RE: Trade for a Honda
ORIGINAL: PastorTom
This thread started me thinkin a bit.. When I was a young bike builder, the biggest import available was a Honda 305. Your choices were between a "Dream", "Scrambler" and I think it was a "Super hawk"? \\;\\\\\\; But this of course gives away the fact that I am on the other side of 50 and aint expected to remember stuff....
 \\;\\\\\\; Blessings..
 \\;
You do mean Japanese import, no? There were an awful ot of \\;bigger imports available when that cool looking 305 was around:
Triumph, BSA, BMW, Matchless, NSU...on and on.
Right? \\;I'm on the "other side of 60"
Was meaning Japanese Imports, I used to build some mean Triumph Choppers, \\; 65 or 66 650 twins.. Hard tail Frames, 15 or 17 over Girders or Springers, Coffin Tanks, 5 foot Sissy bars.
 \\; Blessings
Thanks Big John..
All the Praise goes to Lord, Who took me from what \\; I was
and is patiently making me into what he wishes me to be.

Blessings
Had 13 british bikes 1 honda 3 harleys loved my tramps and Norton felt foolish on my Honda Cb350 bought a sprtr and never looked back HAPPY TRAILS!!!!!!!!
Here is what I have found to be true. \\; All the years I owned my Virago and the Magna, both of which were dressed out painted machines so they had a great look and ran perfect. \\; No one and I mean no one ever asked for a ride. \\; Now when people visit and see me pull in from work they line up waiting for a chance to go for a spin. \\; This is the honest truth. \\; Everyone wants a ride and they take several of them at that. \\; They all come off the bike with a big Sh!% eating grin and say they love it.
Now, I didnt buy the bike for the aproval of others, but I do share their feelings each and every time I ride.
age 14- moped- age 15- honda 65- break age 35 honda 750 age 45 honda magna 750- age 50- Honda VTX- age 56- Harley Deluxe.... It is has been a real trip. Next?? HD Ultra.
I sold my VTX1800F last year. Great bike, big motor, handled well. People would say "Wow, nice bike, what kind of Harley is it....Oh....it's a clone...it's not a Harley...etc" \\; All the forums for the Honda's were guys trying to make the bikes look and sound like H-Ds. Why else would Honda leave their logo off the tank (sells better if it's not tagged Honda). Every year I went to the Harley dealer and spent a day riding all the bikes and enjoying the differences of the HDs. Got an '06 Night Train last month and will never try and substitute a metric over an HD again. Ever. \\;
