Default Rear turn signal relocation?

I just finished installing the Softail Leather Saddlebags (fatboy styling 90320-00C) with Barebacks detachable mounting system. I have a 2004 Fatboy. The rear bullet style turn signal is rubbing against the leather saddlebag and it is a very snug fit to slide the rear of the saddlebag cover between the mount and the turn signal. The turn signal relocation kit has already been installed. If I were to move the turn signals in closer to the fender struts, this would take care of this problem. There is a spacer on each side 1 1/2 inches in length which puts the turn signal this far out from the fender. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a way to get rid of this spacer and move the lights in? Any other options or opinions would be appreciated.

You can use a shorter spacer. Look at a CC or Drag catalog. I've done this many times.
