Congrats on the new XBones.&nbsp\\; You will definitely love the bike and how it handles.&nbsp\\; Little heavy on the front end in parking lots and going slow, but once up to speed it handles awesome...plus it's fun to watch the springs in&nbsp\\;action.&nbsp\\; Send the rain to us we really need it and that way you can pick it up.&nbsp\\; Sounds like a good deal on it.&nbsp\\; I noticed that the local dealer had one at over $18K today.

Most the dealers in the Dallas Fort worth, Texas area want $3000 over MSRP. Yea right. My last bike was a 95 Bad Boy Springer. Im looking at the Cross Bones but want a 21 on the front. I hate the 17 rear 16 front. Why didnt they just put an 18 up front like on the Screaming Eagle springer? Its the same front end. O well. Has anyone removed the springs from the seat to see how it rides?

One other observation on the Springer versus Sportster (and I'll qualify this by saying I've not ridden much on other Softails). Riding the highway in winds, the Springer gets knocked around a LOT less than the Sportster. It could be partially due to the weight difference, but when buying the Springer the sales guy said the heavier front end gets knocked around a bit less by the wind.

I have been riding this Sportster for about three years now... I'm use the wind pushing me around some... I don't worry about that... When I got the Sportster I thought I was younger than I was... The old body aint what it use to be...[8D]
Thus a new bike... I have owned an ElectraGlide and a SuperGlide in the past so I was looking for something along those lines in ride comfort... Its a bitch getting older...

Springer front end is awesome...&nbsp\\; Hope you enjoy your bones.
Just expect an additional maintenance charge when you get your 1k service for the springer.

Best choice you have made, congrats on the new bones..

Well I first bought the Dyna Fatbob as I wasnt aware of the Crossbones until I picked up my Fatbob. I ask the delaer whats that bike? he was like, oh yeah thats the new softail Crossbones! I was like why didnt you tell me about it!! He was like, cause theres none for sale as there all sold out.

So a week later I kept going back to the dealer waiting for someone to cancel there deal and lucky as I was one deal was canceled as the buyer had no funds.. So I booked the crossbones and sold the Fatbob to my friend on the same day and got my Black denim Crossbones and I was over the moon as I have finaly got my dream bike.

The bike represents the rider, so do I regret selling my Fatbob?? Hell NO!! I have nothing agaisnt the Fatbob but for me it was the wrong bike. The Dyna rides nice but not as good as a soft tail in my opinion but thats me. I love the springer front end as it feels just right.

To be honest, the bike chooses the rider, thats why when my eyes first saw the Crossbones, I knew the crossbones was mine as it was who I was and it was just a matter of time before I get her.

Items added on my Bones:

Rear Sissy bar & Seat
Rear Saddle bags
Rear Foot Pegs
Engine Crush bar the same one found on the heritage classic with high way pegs
Smoke turn lens front and rear

Parts on order:

Dark Custom engine derby cover Set

Parts looking for:

Pipes ( I am leaning towards true duals from V&Hs with fishtail ends or straight slip ons ) I can't make up my mind, so still searching..

On a final note, the bones is one of the best bikes I have bought!

I doubt if he will give you the name of the dealer. People like to exaggerate the deals they get on bikes. People prepay for incoming crossbones. It is a hot bike, not many deals out there.
