I have a 07 Harley Nighttrain(FXSTB). I currently have the D205 200/55/17 rear tire. A buddy of mine has the same bike with a D407 200/55/17 rear tire. What is the difference in these tires(mileage, compound, etc...)?
I think the D205 is more of a "sport touring" tire.. a little more sticky and softer while the 407 is harder and more for "regular" touring. \\; I was told the D407 was a higher mileage tire.
I like the 205's more, but they don't come in the size for my bike. \\; I would imagine the other tire would last a bit longer, but the 205 is a bit stickier.
I just replaced the D205 on my Train at 12K, probably coulda got a little more out of it, but I'll err on the side of safety...got the D407 on there now, and I can't tell any difference in appearance or handling, but I was told I should get a little more mileage...
