Guys when i am at idle the motor on my 2003 softail 88B motor sounds and feels like it is knocking slightly over idle if i am in neutral. If i am in first or second gear going around 1500 RPM i can feel a slight knocking and grinding. The bike only has 8k miles on it. WTH is going on with this thing? Is this just the nature of the beast on the 88B motor? I also have a 2006 Street Glide and it makes no sounds at all. I am afaid to ride the softail because i think it is going to let loose some day.
I would like to hear if anyone else has had this same issues or can provide me with some 411.

You could cut the oil filter open and unfold the paper pletes and look for metal..........That will tell ya if it's time to open it up and explore

 

I have access to having&nbsp\\;an oil analysis. I have done this with cars in the past but never with an air cooled motorcycle motor. Has anyone had an oil analysis done on a Harley and is it accuate on a motorcycle?
