Ordinarily no reason to check primary level, \\; that's why no dipstick. \\; If you're going to take the derby cover off may as well drain and refill with new fluid. \\; Won't have to do it until next service interval which is probably 10k. \\;

I have to differ with that statement...H-D does sell the Formula + for the primary, but they also use their Syn \\;3 in all 3 holes...just sayin... \\;

Got a fatboy few days ago, don't have a clue how to check primary fluid, what is the fluid capacity?
Can I use Amsoil 20w50 V-twin on all three? Tranny and primary I mean, I can't seem to find the fluid type in the manual. Thanks Alex

It's one of those things that is so simple it makes you want to scream... "Why hasn't this been done before?" With the Corbin EZ-Fill adding oil to your primary is simple, just remove the knurled plug from the inspection cover and pour. It looks great and works just as well (a hallmark of Corbin design).
Forged aluminum and triple plate chromed for a perfect fit and finish. Rubber o-ring creates a positive seal and secure fit of the chromed plug. Two models are available for a variety of Harley-Davidson models.

EZ-Fill primary inspection covers do not fit on Harley models with mid-controls like the standard Dyna-Glides. There is no hole for the shifter shaft. On some models, it may be required to slightly bend the side-stand helper for clearance (that's the thing you hook your boot on to get the stand to swing out). EZ-Fill primary inspection covers do not fit the 2007 models. EZ-Fill primary inspection covers do not fit any after market shifters that are longer than stock shifters.  \\;

Primary fluid
At my first Primary fluid change I've always used Automatic transmission fluid. I also install a screaming eagle or (Aftermarket equal) pressure plate.
I've done it with my 79' Lowrider, 85' Softail and currently my 2000 Nightrain.
I can easily get 90,000 from my original clutches. I don't usually do burnouts (But have) & I do like to run my stuff hard. My engines are never stock, I always manage to pump up the horsepower w/o any clutch problems.
I used to use Type F (Ford) but Dextron works about the same.
