I bought mine in '06 with 3,000 miles on the clock. The guy wanted out of the hobby and tossed in 2 helmets, an HD leather jacket and vest. I still own it with only 18,500 on it but swapped out the bars for Burly apes, a comfy gel seat with drivers backrest and a luggage rack. Other than changing the rear tire and fluids, the bikes been great.
My wife has an absolutely pristine pearl white 03 Aniv Heritage.
7100 miles. Just needs tires(2nd set now repl in 09) just due to
age. She hasn't ridden it in 3 yrs.
Extra chrome etc etc etc. Pipes, stage-1.
I rode it last weekend. It runs perfect. It's FI.
It may run a tad smoother than my 00.
before I changed the fuel filter and checkvalve hose .... she was running fine for the past few days but today she died on me with the following symptoms:
it was as thow she was running out of gas, backfired and just didn't get anymore fuel. after bringing her home on a trailer I started her with no problems but died again after a few seconds. Tank is 3/4 full and all fuses are ok. I can hear the fuel pump but it is not the squealing sound as before.
Maybe a hint ...
can you give me an idea what problem might be and how to solve it. Is there anyone out there who had same trouble ?
Thanks Robby
My touring bike had the same symptoms. In my case, the in tank fuel line split between the pump and the external line disconnect. Theres a pressure regulator in there too.
Funny.
I have (well it's my wife's) A CHERRY pearl white Anvi Heritage
Dlr tried to give me 6K & change (4K for my 00) to trade (up???)
to an 08 Ultra.
Glad I didn't do it.
If she'd part with the damn thing, I'd sell it for 10 (aprox)
