If you change exhaust and AC you need a fuel management system.&nbsp\\; I went with V&amp\\;H Big Shot Longs and a V&amp\\;H FuelPak on my Deluxe !!!

The only thing a fuel pack does is change the fuel air mixture by tricking the ECU. The same thing that XIEDS do.

Do a search on Stage 1 and realize that letting the engine breath better (intake and exhause) will add to lean condition. Some sort of fuel computer will know how to properly add fuel and give you increased performance and cooler running. Switching to synthetic oils will also step-down the temps a little.
&nbsp\\;
I purchased V-H BSS that came with mounting holes so I could keep the o2 sensors. There are many merrits to keeping a closed system. These BSS also keep a hidden cross-over so the pipes can continue sharing back-pressure.
&nbsp\\;
I DID notice an improvement with how my bike runs.&nbsp\\; I added the quiet baffles that aparently changes the torque-curve but the deeper note played is what I was after.
&nbsp\\;
My 08 Fatboy is running great and has clocked over 13k miles now.

XIEDS is a patch until you can afford to do it right.
Why would you say that? Fuel mgmnt systems (e.g., Fuel Pak) work on the same principle... they fool the ECM by sending false signals. An FMS just gives you more granular control (and cost a lot more to boot).

yea, you can pick up the xieds for about $100 and the fuel management systems with run you over $200 easily. the pcIII is closer to $300. your choice...

if money is an issue. if you change your intake and exhaust, the fms will give you more control to dial it in. a friend of mine with a heritage (stage 1) took his pcIII off because he felt it wasn't running well. feels it runs much better now. go figure...
