I'm getting ready to buy a sled as my main commute vehicle. I have a 80 mile round trip in San Diego, half back country roads/highway, and half interstate freeway. I have a work bro that insist's I get a late model with the 6 speed tranny which he has been oozing over since getting his NT. For those of you that have experience with both the 5 and 6 speed bikes ... Would the difference be that noticable in the 6 speed MPG in the long run over opting for the cheaper 5 speed ride? \\; Appreciate any insight.
Stay Safe!
If you are doing it for fuel economy I dont believe there is that much difference between the two. My 99 Heritage got about the same mileage as my 07. For a smoother more comfortable ride though I would pick the six speed over the five any day.
