Yup...I sit in my Lo...and with streamlined aftermarket seat I'm even lower. I'm not the best rider...so the lower the center of gravity the better. But...I started out with Sportys and Dynas...so the milkshake effect is not an issue. On test rides ... the ultras and kings seem smoother at highway rpm...and the feel bigger ....

This past week I traded it for a '07 Fatboy with 4,600 miles. I've been riding it non stop. While it came with a windshield, it hasn't been on the bike since I've owned it. To me, this is what motorcycling is all about. Back to basics and fundamental.

I couldn't have said this better. Agree 100%.

I went from a Sporty to a Fat Boy to a Road King Classic. Now I'm back to a Fat Boy Lo.

The touring bike was far more practical on the highway, but it feels so much better to be back on (or should I say "in") a softail with the rigid-mount, counterbalanced engine. I primarily ride 1-up around town, so I know I made the right choice for me.

I would put removable bags on a softail before I went back to a touring bike.

But I found the shaky d shake very annoying and the seat wasn't anywhere near as comfortable as my Heritage. I was hoping to maybe "upgrade" to a tourer but I fear the softail has done spoiled me.

Same here back in 09,
I wanted to see for myself how much better the RK rode compared to my Heritage.....

Took one for a test ride....

I'll just say the Heritage rides better than any softail IMO and better than the RK, and its still the bike sitting in the GARAGE.....

Funny how the internet never forgets.. Some of those guys who didn't want to switch to touring bikes in 2008 bought 2009 baggers.

Have rented ultra's and ridden them while on vacation but to own everyday I just don't particularly feel the need.
I don't like a windshield, use a small ipod for music that works fine, I have a pretty big bag on the sissy bar and rack for stuff.
To have to pull that thing in and out of my current shed would just be too much hassle for what I use a bike for.

I do like the looks of the Road Glides However so Never say Never!
