Sorry to bring old posts back up but I could use some install help. I purchased the sloth but I can't seem to get the sucker to fit on my 08 crossbones. I removed the seat, seat pan, springs.....I got nothing. Any ideas?
Here is a picture of the mammoth choppers solo seat. You can get a couple different patterns stitched in. I'm 6' tall but loved the look of the solo seat on the bones. This seat dropped me about 4 inches and makes it feel like your sitting down in the bike vs sitting on top of it, I love it.
White Guy-
I am wanting to similar type of seat mod like yours to my Crossbones. I can't find the 2" springs anywhere that claims fitment. Where did you find yours? Did you use the stock pan and just changed the saddle and the springs?
Any help you can give would be really appreciated.
Thanks
You can get the 2 inch springs from jp cycle. The saddle is a larosa. stock hardware fits. you have to shorten the width of your hardware and your good. I weigh 260 and im 5'6. the 2 inch springs compressed too much, so i put the 3 inch stock ones back on. I slammed the rear of my bike and i am completely flatfooted.
2" springs are a great idea. I've had mine for a few months now. Also, check out a smaller bobber seat. It'll put you MUCH lower. Here's my bones with a LaRosa Saddle from "Panhandle Choppers" on Ebay..
Just picked up my 2010 Cross Bones Friday night - waiting for the kit from JPs to get here so I can knock it down a couple inches, but as I am 5'4" and weigh 140 I'm thinking I might still need another inch or two. Did you install this seat on the stock springs or get the 2" springs as well? Also, where did you get the leather piece to replace the uply plastic seat pan?
Last, how many miles have you done in a day on that seat? I have 2 rides schedules in 6 & 7 weeks that will be 1000 mile weekends (Fri-Sun) and I want to make sure I will be able to go the distance if I decide to change my seat, and I refuse to get rid of the bobber look.
Has anyone bought the Heartland USA kit, or something similar? Opinions on it?
My Brawler and Sidekick seat just came in. It sits significantly lower and makes the ride feel more comfortable, but it is certainly different than sitting on the stock "tractor" seat. I have the sissybar on order too.
^^ How's the pan on that seat? I am not happy with the seating position on the stocker and I have ordered 2" torsion springs myself to see if that help but I still feel like the stock seat just doesn't have a deep enough bucket...

Pan is exactly the same size as the stocker. Just thinner padding. Holds you in the seat better than the stocker too. Very comfortable to ride all day long. Plus the 2" scissor springs lower it down even more.
