Does anyone know where to find lower chrome wind deflectors for the Softail Standard?
Ok, I hear all the nay-sayers... you need to feel the wind in your hair and the freedom of the open road. Or, if you want to ride a touring bike - buy a touring bike.
I like my FXST and don't want to change. However, for long rides it would be great to cut down on some of the wind. I can't find any chrome lowers that are made for the FXST without switching to a different windshield, and I am not interested in the plastic look.
Have any Standard riders found an aftermarket product?
Yep, can verify that the standard ones for the FL's will not work.
Just went and bought a set and thinking about butchering it up to make it work, or thinking about maybe using em' for a proto type and making some out of polished stainless steel.
Think any body would be interested?
National cycle does have an aftermarket lower chrome deflectors, but it sounds like you need to have their windshield and their hardware to make it fit. Has anyone tried to mount the National Cycle wind deflector with an HD OEM windshield? Does the HD hardware work or do you need to do some modifications to make the deflector fit?
I have lower wind deflectors from Rifle which work well with my H-D detachable shield. They are clear plastic that kinda disappears from a distance which suits me fine.
