I just want to bring to the attention of other Bones owners a potential problem. Due to the cramped area in which I park my Bones, I have to leave her parked with the wheel/bars turned to the right instead of the left. My bike has a small chromed cable retainer mounted on the right side of the springer fork. Unfortunately, this cable retainer does it's job too well in this instance and because it retains the throttle cables so well, they have both kinked severely as they are not allowed the room to move and retain a decent arc with the bars cranked over.
So far, everything still works okay but I will have to have the cables replaced at the next service. I don't know if the dealership will cover them under warranty, but I think they should. It seems to me that they shouldn't be able to get into a crimp situation no matter what, but you know how warranty things are. Just wanted to let others know.
Yeah, I noticed that it's a bit tight there as well. It got worse when I moved my bars forward. I moved them forward so that the bars followed the same line as the fork. I've seen some people move the bars forward past the line of the forks. Did you move your bars at all? The lines seem to get shorter the further you move the bars forward. Just some food for thought..
No, I haven't touched the bars at all. Everything is just as delivered other than the fact that I changed grips. I carefully marked everything beforehand so that nothing was altered. Good point though.
Just checked and mine came delivered with the bars in line with the forks!

Reason: update
Heck I moved my bars all around... could not get them positioned right... no issues with the cables
Installed RSD Vintage Handlebars that are canted forward...no cable issues with them either...
now i don't store or park my bike with the wheel pushed all the way to the right side...
My advice would be to just remove the cable guide if it's causing a problem
Hey cheesecake, my buddy just put that RSD intake on his Streetbob. Pricy but cool. I met Roland at a auction event a couple months back. Lucky bastard, cool guy.
