Has anyone installed a West Eagle Solo Seat Mounting Bracket Kit?
Well it looks like the final pictures and thoughts will have to wait. I am going to have to fabricate a couple of custom parts to make everything fit together.
The first problem is that the spring mounts on the kit are 7 inches apart and the spring mounts on the seat are 10.5 inches apart. This should not take much more than a bar measuring 1.5 inches wide, 11.25 inches long, and 1/8 of an inch thick. The bar will have a pair of holes in it for bolts that go down to the springs, and another set of holes that go up into the seat. I am actually planning to drill multiple holes for the seat bolts so the seat can be moved forward or backward depending on what is comfortable for the rider. The front mount is slotted for just such an adjustment.
Problem two. The studs that mount the springs to the frame bracket are orientated such that they tilt forward a bit. The holes in the seat are perpendicular to the ground. I am going to have to machine some bushings that change the angle at which the spring sits on the bracket studs. There is enough slop between the ID of the springs and the OD of the bracket to make this possible.
All this should make sense once completed when I post some pictures, but it will take time as I will have everything I fab powder coated.
Wish me luck!

So looks like you need to make an adapter plate. Wish these guys would publish and show a template of spacing on seat studs.

I'm in a bind. I have an 04 Heritage Classic and have purchased the Exile Night Train Kit. Bad news is that Russels plastic company has not played nice and the frame cover is not available until maybe forever. I do not think there has been a great deal of interest in Exile Softail bolt ons and that is to bad. Especially for me, because I do not think Exile is in a rush to fabricate. I flew out to LA from Austin just to check out the goods, and it was quality plus. So I have been beating the web to find a sleek underseat frame cover. I don't like the Cross Bones or Heartlands...Too boxy. I also don't want to look at all those wires and battery. Sooo, All i've read in the forum were solo seat nightmares, are there any happy endings out there?
Thanks
