The diameter of the wheel is obviously 2" smaller but one a tire is added it will most likely be almost the same. Of course it really depends on the size of tire you plan on running. What kind are you running now and on the back?
He wants to take the 21" front tire off his bike and swap it out for a 19" tire. And is trying to figure out if this will affect the way his bike handles or if it will be fine. He has already swapped out his rear for an 18" tire.
I don't see what is so hard to follow by his post.

I think you will be fine doing this
But whats the problem with the handling now? Vibration, suspension too soft, problems turning, high speed or low speed wobble etc. Handling is not specific enough.
I am curious why someone would change to smaller wheels. Looks? If you are going with a smaller diameter wheel and tire will it be wider? Just curious.

Thank-you SNOOK592, Now I hope someone else reads this that can understand a simple question.I am posting this as a favor for someone who is not a member of this fine forum. She is looking for greater stability, travelling on rough (possibly gravel) roads, on a planned cross Canada trip. The "Deuce" with the narrow front tire poses some handling problems when riding on rough roads, soooooo, that's where the smaller, fatter tires come into question. Does it affect the rake/trail geometry if changing from the factory recommended tire sizes?
