Default HD signal mirrors

Has anybody used the HD signal mirrors successfully with removing the stock turn signals? I bought a pair last year for my Nightster, but returned them before installing. The directions said the stock signals had to remain in place for the mirrors to work correctly.

Is it possible to get rid of the stock signals (the whole point) and get the signal mirrors to function properly? if so, how?

i searched the forums and did not find a concrete answer.

thanks

I think so, unless you install load equalizer. Not just the HD one, Kuryakyn turns are the same way, remember when you add or subtract a turn signal bulb, you also change the resistance on the flasher bi-metal spring, it won't flash properly.

Well, you might run into problem because of the HD TSSM module, I am not sure what you can do to make it work. Do a search in the Kuryakyn website, I remember seeing something there.

The load equalizer on my night train was plug and play under the seat. Kuryaken led turn signals.

Local dealer installed the HD signal mirrors on my Rocker without using stock signals.

I installed the HD turn signal mirrors on my '98 Fatboy. I had to use a load equaliser but it was a simple install under the seat. I only wish that the mirror stalks were straight and not curved as then they would match the rest of the bike better! But they work fine and are actually better at being mirrors than the stock ones were.

I'll check my invoice & see if any additional parts were installed. I think that the dealer just plugged them into existing wiring. I'll get back to you soon.
