You obviously haven't cleaned and oiled it yourself yet and still have the factory oil installed at the proper level.
When you do it yourself just use a fine amount!
thank you will keep that in mind when im cleaning it..appreciate it.
Mine did the same above 70 MPH, I thought it was filter oil but it turned out to be breather oil weepin past the banjo fittings.
That's one of the reasons I switched from the SE to the AN Big Sucker, no banjo fittings, no mess. That, and the fact that I can clean the filter with the K&N kit, as opposed to throwing away the SE paper filter. And yeah, LIGHT on the oil...
You don't need to keep oiling it all the time. It only needs oil when you clean it.
When cleaning it you must let it dry completely be fore reoiling it. If you are cleaningit all the time because it is not red you are cutting down on the life of the filter.they work fine when they turn gey.
I have a trick to dry the air filter, wash and rinse, put it on the top of my car defrost vent, start my car and turn on the heater to mild hot, it takes 10 mins to dry, there you go!
