No help? You asked if any of us had the same problem, you got various answers, and then you say we're no help. OK...maybe you should have spent some of those chrome $$ on a better seat? Does that help? 'Cause I feel much better now...

I had a Dyna before, the Softail runs hotter, or at least because of the position the heat comes right to you in the seat.

xied will help with the heat. nightrider.com a sert or power commander will also help but more expensive than the xied's

Heard of one solution for heat radiating from the oil tank to the seat: Wrap the underside of the seat with aluminum foil. Carefully check what the foil will contact so you don't get any electrical shorts.

what exactly were you looking for? a shoulder to cry on? maybe a thermostat for the bike temp? There's no easy or quick fix. You have an air cooled bike. It gets hot. If you sit on it, you get hot, too.

I installed the XiED units from Nightrider and they definately help. Takes longer for the engine to build heat than without them. Bike runs better too.
