I'm not far from you either. Thats a mean piece of highway you rode and there is plenty more like it around if you like the twisties. EZ RIDERZ is a good shop close to you down the oak ride turnpike toward Kingston. Its located 2.1 miles before you reach the I40 356 get on and in frount of Jon Lodens body shop, phone 865-376-1513. Bill's a good guy with 30 some years working on Harleys.Smoky Mountain is on the Lamar Alexander Parkway in Maryville. Farm Beauro Insurance is across the street from Bill's at 865-717-2771 and tell em' Bloodyhead sent you.Uhaul is close too if you need that number.I hope you heal quick.Good luck on your trip home.27 north has some nice twisties that can also challenge you. If we want to continue this thread then we need to leave out the religious discussion or move it to the religion forum. Pro or Con, it doesn't belong here.

That seems to be one thing with just about any crash - it seems you beat up and bruise just about *everything* on your body. Even the parts of you that aren't specifically "injured" hurt. You go to sit up from bed the next morning, and your shoulders and wrists refuse to play along without screaming at you in pain.

Then, of course, many years later, it seems a lot of those same parts come back to say "Remember the time you beat the hell out of us on the pavement?".

After a careful and long term analysis, I have determined that crashing sucks and should be avoided whenever possible.

Could not navigate a 190 degree turn doing 15-20 mph. When front tire hit dirt.... I laid it down and let bike go over me and down into a ravine.

I think surely it is totaled, but the State Trooper says it is repairable. I haven't seen it.

Trooper said 116 is Devil's Triangle, just like Tail of Dragon is south of here. I was NOT going to do the Dragon, either.

So, here I sit 375 miles from home with no ride.

Plus, I am actually hurt kinda bad. BIG road rash on arm and leg, and knee swollen to point can't walk.

ER Doc says nothing broken, so that is a blessing.

CRAP!!!! Now I have to get myself and bike home. Just 9k miles on new bike since May of this year.

I have insurance on bike, so that will get repaired. I do NOT have health insurance, nor....I found out.....Nationwide does NOT have medical coverage on bike policy like all my other vehicles DO have.

SIGH>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

But, God was with me, or I would have been life flighted outta there like the last TWO out of ELEVEN motorcycle wrecks at exact same spot THIS YEAR!!!!!

Nice vacation.

In motel and cannot sleep.
Bro, same thing happened to me over Labor Day weekend. Sounds like you weren't injured too bad, so thank God for that. I broke my collar bone and fractured 4 ribs, but it honestly could have been worse. I hope your bike can be repaired, if not hopefully your insurance will let you get a new one!

Good luck and get out riding again!!
