Default Transmission Side Cover - HELP!

Well - here's the story. 07 Softail Custom. Replacing all zinc plated bolts with chrome. In order to get to one on the trans side plate I loosened the clutch cable where it threads into the side cover. When I went to retighten, it didn't feel right, but I thought it was just the tension of the cable...Well...I stripped it. ARRRRRGRHH!!!!!!!

Is there a fix or help (helicoil?) or do I just need to get a new cover?

I had the same problem when I did it. I was able to just run a tap through the cover, and reinstalled clutch cable. Worked great.

Well I did the same last night. Had to cut the cable, run a small drill through and then tap. Now I'm waiting for a new clutch cable.....we';; see but it looks like it has enought to grab...

Thanks!
