Default Carlini Flying Apes

Have 12.5" Wild1's now on my Deluxe. Thinking about switching to a 14" or
16" Carlini Flying Apes. Occasionaly I use the HD quick detach windshield. Does anyne know if it will fit with the forward bend of the Carlini's?

Those Wild Ones look great on that Deluxe! But, if you are set on swapping them, just draw a line up the vertical bends and add 1 1/2" or 3 1/2". If that line goes through your windshield then it won't fit with the new bars, unless you angle them back, and that would lower your grips an inch or so anyway.

blz2503- I'm going to check with Carlini and if it works out will selling the Wild1's. Also be selling the smooth wild 1 top clamp and risers since the Carlini's don't step down. You can have fisrt option.

BluBob- Thanks for the info.I wouldn't have a problem with having to rock the bars back on the occasion I use the shield. Would depend upon how much though. Will see what Carlini has to say about the fitment.

Just be careful on height. I ordered the 14" Gangsta Apes and risers (low rise), and Ill tell you, Im 6'6", and combined with the lower seat and lowered rear suspension, these bars are probably 3" above my shoulders if I slouch (I try and sit in "inspection ready" position on the base and around cops, its funnay. Looks like I have a rod rammed up my a##)

Also, just to let you know, Carlini doesn't make anything shorter than 16" high with the 1.5" diameter. I originally wanted a set of 14" gangster apes, but they don't make them in 1.5" diameter. Lucky for me, I got the 16" bars instead and couldn't be happier with them. Good luck!

The Flying Apes have the backward bend. Its the Gangster Apes with the forward bend. And yes, the QD windshield fits fine with my 16's.

I think I'll go with the 1 1/4" bars. The 14" bar is new.

It's actually the opposite... gangsters inward bend, flying outward bend. I like them both but favor the flying apes. I don't think the Gangsters look good in anything less than 16". Just my Opinion.
