Has anyone ever replaced the rear wheel 200mm them selfs ??? is it worth the aggravation ?? do i need that belt tenchener tool to measure the slack ?? or do you think i should just take it to somebody ??? i got estimates of 70 bucks from independent shops and 125 from the stealer .... thanks
I have changed my rear tire a couple of times now. It is not that bad. Only thing I would suggest is make sure you have someone to help you. It will make pulling the rear axle easier and putting it back together as well. Also ensure you take the brake caliper off.
Take the wheel off an take it so an indy. That is what I always do. I have never needed a belt tensioner tool, but if you are new to rear wheel alignment you might want one. The stealers charge an hourly rate on the labor for tire replacement and it can get quite expensive. If you do this yourself just take your time. It is simple.
don't even mess with the rear wheel placement just remove the bottom belt guard and drop the wheel straight down.
put it back the same place as it was never loosen the adjustors.
also put the axel in from the left so next time you don't need to remove the pipes then take the wheel to somebody and get the tire changed my guy charges 20$ and does the balance also..
