Will be replacing the tires on my '06 FX Springer in a week or two. I would like to get a slightly beefier front tire that fits within the current (stock) fender. Any recommendations? Like does Metzler or anyone make a 21" a little wider? Thanks
A 90/90/21 or MH21 are your choices for a wider tire on the stock rim on a FX Springer. I am currently running a 80/90/21 on a 100 spoke AWW but had a 90/90/21 on my stock rim.

I just put a Metz 90/90/21 on mine, I don't think I can go any wider due to the bolts holding the fender. There's only 1/8" clearance between the tire and the end of the bolt.
Wider also means taller so the fender itself would be getting pretty tight too.
Just for reference to figure it out on your bike:
Width- 90 = 90mm wide sidewall to sidewall.
Height- /90 = 90% of the width
Size-/ 21 rim (obviously)
Here's what I went with, $108.98 for tire, tube, and shipping, 3 days to the door. Hope it helps.
Thanks guys. Hey Reb6, may I ask what rear you put on? I love the 90/90 idea up front and guess you found the stock a little narrow too. I have been toying with the Metzler 210 rear. One of our guys here runs it but it sounds REALLY tight. I might go 90/90 front and stock (200) rear.
Thanks Gabadoo. I also have a Stage 4 Fatboy that is now at my wrench's house for replacement of my Dunlops with Avon Venoms. Can't wait to ride them. Is the MH90 21 a noticeable larger tire? Thanks
To be honest, I really do not remember the differences in size from stock to the Avon. I can say that it is a very nice tire. The rear is a nice sticky tire. The grip on that tire far exceeds what I used to have, that is for sure, and the tread pattern looks aggressive as hell. Lets see how long she lasts hehe.

On the rear I have a 150/80/16, but to get that the sprocket, and belt had to be changed from stock 1 3/4" sprocket and a 1 1/2" belt, down to a 1 1/2" sprocket and a 1 1/4" belt. There are a few other mods too but fortunately I didn't have to pay for them. I was told it's the biggest tire I can have on there also.
i put a metzeler 120/70 21", a 3.25" wheel and new fender. way beefy now and i get tons of comps. a friend has the same set up on his springer with no fender and its shweeeet!
