wide tire kits
I have a 2004 FXST-I with 150mm back tire and want to replace the back tire with a 200mm. Any ideas on the best way without breaking the bank or impacting the ride quality?

check out some of my threads... i have gotten some answers... looking into doing the same with my 02. looks like you have to get an '06+ belt and pulley, 18x5.5" rim with new style softail hub. cut your fender struts and figure out what fender setup you want. think i'm goin with a stock 07 fender and some custom struts (or spacing out mine). i'm also told you can run the 200 with your stock caliper but you may have use a spacer. as far as ride quality they say it stays good up to 200 but anything bigger and you notice a difference turning. my friend has 07 with a stock 200 and he was goin to install a 240 kit until he rode one and didnt like it at all. i know another guy with a custom chopper 300 and he has to slow way down to turn. others say no problems as long as you dont offset your tranny. dont know first hand biggest i rode was 200. good luck

Just a few weeks ago, I installed a 200 on my 03 Deuce, using the HOGPRO kit. It comes with everything that you need. Install took one afternoon and some of the next morning. Changing the drive belt needs the removal of the primary-cluch, the starter, and the oil tank. You can use the existing struts and fender. Looks good and rides fantastic!
