I have had this for some time and figure out where it is coming from.
I just recently tightened the steering head nut and checked the front tire pressure.
The speed is like going into a parking space or bank line etc and is in either direction.
I can't tell if it is engine, primary, belt or disk pads but it does feel like a rubbing or something.
When I found the front tire low I thought maybe that was it but now that it is at proper psi it is still doing it.
When is the last time you greased your neck? If it only does this when turning I would say its in the neck. You could have a bad bearing
Well, I hate to admit this but with 13000 on it and having only had it greased at the 1000 service I have neglected this. Grease flew out of it for so long I simply got tired of cleaning it up. Will see if lubing helps. I thought the grease was more for keeping the sleeve from rusting, you telling me these bearings go completely dry this fast?
I'm betting its your discs rubbing on your brake rotors (front and back, too) which is normal....
That's what I was thinking and someone else had happening. I think he had the pads changed and it solved it. It is a really strange feel. Never had it happen on any other bike.
Do other pads solve the issue?
changing pad wont help ,i have the same problem more with the rear brakes ,i hear a rubbing noise in the rear and my brake pads turned blue and the rotor get hot ,i heard thats normal .. i think you just have to live with it ...
I have has all the noises, I hope.
The rubbing noise I had from the rear was not the breaks. you can test but using them and see if the noise changes or goes away. mine did not. the noise was more there when it rained or cooled off and only from 30mph and lower. rotational noise. engine off and still there. it turns out that when I had the rear tire changed they put the plastic belt guard tab on the wrong side of the chrome guard and that caused the plastic guard to rub the sprocket. it left a dark streak on the sprocket

I don't even have the lower guard (plastic) on the bike anymore.
