Good looking ride,I like the look alot.
You state 2 1/2" lowered rear.
I was told when I lowered my 04 that 2" was the max or your belt will rub the top of the case.
Did they change the newer bikes?
Did you modify?
Does your belt rub?
The look with the front higher than the rear is intentional, kind of a low rider look. I do admit that it DOES affect handling, as its very light in the front, needs some more rake. The belt does not rub on the cases, and tire just barely touches the rear fender during HARD rear suspension hits (I am impressed with the mechanic that helped install all this, as the rear suspension is adjusted perfectly!!). I get a bit of headshake at speeds above 72 mph or so, I adjusted the steering head bearings a bit tighter, and it helped, but it seems a bit tight when I jack it up on the fall test (seems to be tight until its past the 2 " mark, then falls). I intend on getting rid of the stock shotgun exhaust at some point, but I am torn. For a stock application, I think its the best one. If I get a full aftermarket exhaust, everything that looks the best will actually affect performance in a negative way. I think the V & H exhausts are the best, starting with the sideshots, which from what I understand will be very loud and negatively affect future horsepower gains. Soooo........I dunno. I also intend on mounting some sort of bags on the rear, either paint matched rears, or rigid leather covered ones that I can detach with MINIMAL brackets left to be visible ( I REALLY love the rodking custom bags that were on in 2005 and 2006, and I wouldnt have to worry about having them painted to match, especially when I break down and buy a paint set!!). This will also affect my exhaust choice.
After lots of talk, and weeks of study, I found the intended look for my 2007 Fat Boy.I put the HD inverted forks, 52 spoke DNA wheels and rotors, AVON Cobra radials, lowered the rear 2 1/2, Carlini 14" Gangsta apes and Bra riser, stainless cables, custom seat, custom tailight, etc. Let me know what you think:
