6 Speed
1st off. Thanks for the replies & info !!!
I like the overall 1-5 ratio. With the Dir/Drive you have to change other gearing.
The SE 6 is the same as the stk 1-5 then (true) ovd 6th. I'm sure the Baker is a kickass product, but, bang for the buck, the SE may be better. I'm just curious what people who have installed them think. I'm more interested in engine life @ lwr rpm, smoother operation and if I pick up a couple mpg . . . all the better.

I got the SE 6 speed gearset(you use your stock tranny case) for about $1600(I normally get a 20% through my dealer). Absolute best bang for the buck. The baker OD6 is nice, but way overpriced comparitively to the SE 6 speed.
Does it shift better and, do you loose the tranny whine with the SE gear set or the Baker DD6?. I have a 2008 heritage and the stock tranny SUCKS IMHO. I would most likely spend the bucks to rid myself of the anoyance.

Shifting is tight and precise. No whine that I can tell, but I run Bassani Pro Streets, LOL. I use a HD 75w-90 synth tranny fluid.
Not a fan of the Baker DD6, or any gearset that uses helical cut gears. Helical cut gears dont transfer as much power to the rear wheel like straight cut gears.
