Like most of the product specific forums I have seen and lived on for a while there is always an undercurrent of familarity to the people who have been there a while. You think your in a rut because you see the same questions over and over again.
Most of the new guys and gals are only asking because they honestly don't know either the answer to their question or that there is a search function that can help them find the answer.
I like to think there are few if any really stupid or worthless questions. And unless your asking how do I start my bike or how to take off the gas cap most of us will always try to help out. Cause once apon a time we were all ignorant noob's and someone answered our already asked a thousand times questions. Even if we are old enough to have asked them a hundred years before Al Gore invented the internet.
So I think its only fair to keep things going by passing along what we have learned to help them too.
Yes it can seem a little boring at times and a bit slow in the summer cause we're all out riding, and its even worse now that some of us (up north) can see the end (of this season) is near. But it always picks up once the snow flies and people start the 'winter mods'.
In the end there's always the friends we have made and the one or two things that someone comes up with that really is new to keep our interest going. If that were not the case I dare say most of us would have jumped ship a long time ago.
I find this site very useful. I have been meaning to donate. I don't like the change in navigation to this forum. That's a personal thing. Keep up the good work.
There have been a lot of changes here on HDF since I joined. Back then, there were a lot of characters who kept things pretty lively...but most of whom eventually grew up and left home or were asked to leave this one (they are still around, just not posting here much).
I miss a lot of them....anyone hear from Kirbygirl in awhile? What about Springer, TM, Mikeeee, ******, HorsesNHarleys....the list is long.
Not sure what it is but I hope it turns around again this winter. Like it or not, the problems this forum was having left made a lot leave because the problems weren't being fixed. Not blaming anyone but corporate for that.
Regardless, I've benefited from HDF and would miss this place if it wasn't around.
yea, it's boring. the majority of the posts are the same old **** about pipes and pictures of stock bikes. This is the most interesting thread I've seen since some dude asked what socks to wear with boots.
