cutting fender?

Default cutting fender?
Anyone cut down/off the rear plastic fender? I would like only the plate on the back, not 5 inches of extra plastic around it. I figure cut the fender & mount the tag up as far as possible to the tail lamp; possibly even bend the tag up a bit at an angle. Has anyone done something similar or know of something that would be close?

Night Train? I just cut mine off completely and made a mount for the side.

Removed the whole assembly and made me a bracket for new tail light and plate.
