I had the HD quick release shield and then installed the Nacelle, HD shield no longer fitted so I opted for the windvest, works great easy to install, two screws and its off, I have a slightly used HD shield for sale if anyone's interested PM me.

I've got a Memphis Shades shield on my Sportster and the Harley Nostagic shield on my Deluxe. Both are good quality but I tend to think the Harley shield is a little better quality. I like Harley's detachable mounting system better than the Memphis one in my own humble opinion.....
I had a hard time deciding on the windshield. I checked out all the ones everyone has mentioned, but I have to be honest - I got very lucky. I was purchased a christmas present...the dragoncycleconcepts fairing with windscreen set-up. It's a quick disconnect deal...4 bolts and off. I'll even have a radio and 12 volt power plug...should arrive in 2 weeks. I figure for the winter chill and long drives it'll be perfect and when I want to just run around town I can remove it. I'll post pics after I get it if anyone is interested.
I've got the HD windshield on my Fat Boy with the quick release hardware. My wife's last bike had a windshield on it, and I don't remember the brand name, but it was a far superior wind shield than the HD piece. I find that the one that I have buffets around a lot. Despite that, it's still better than nothing and it does a good job of keeping the wind off you.
Clearview makes a nice replacement windshield. They have a recurve feature that allows a 1.5-2" shorter shield than normal shield. Also Clearview is only manufacturer I know of that allows using Rain-X on there shields. http://clearviewshields.com/shop/manufacturer.php?id=9
Windvest does mount on the handlebars. Mine works very well, you just have to experiment with the height adjustments and angle of it to get the best wind deflection. Makes long rides a lot easier on the body.
I recognize that brick railing and scenery - Tail of the Dragon - been there too!
I have a Windvest and have used many others. This is the only one that will fit with my Z-bars and mid-glide frontend. It far surpases everything else in quality and works great for me.
I have since lowered it 1" since these pictures were taken. I like the adjustability of it as well.
