I have a 09 Heritage with Screamin Eagle stage 1 A/C and download, I also have Rush 1.75 slip ons. The bike seems to be running great to me, however; I'm new to this. I have been told to get a PC III from Fuelmoto, my question is what will it do for me if I already have the HD download?
Also if I get one set up for the 1.75 baffles and then switch to 2.00 will I need another map?
The Stage I download is good for what you have. If you do any engine mods, you will need to upgrade your bike with a PCIII or SERT or whatever. The download you have still runs towards the lean side of the mixture curve but it is acceptable for you current mods.
Bottom line is you don't need one now, but may later.
The PCIII will give you a better range of tunability...I recently changed pipes (from V&H to Rineharts) and was glad I had the PCIII over the HD download.
They will adjust to changes made to the air intake and exhaust systems. They will however adjust to the EPA mandated 14.5 AFR. As many know this will not give the best power curve and will run hot in most areas of the country.
If you are looking for optimum power and performance and not cook your thighs then you many be in the market for a fuel management system.
Just make sure it is not pinging with your set up. You get no ***** with the HD download. It is sort of a Kmart canned SERT or SEST. If it pings you will need the ***** from a SEST or PCIII to adjust the timing or fuel, or for the dyno.
The download worked well for my friend's Electra Std.
