I have a Rocker and i bought the hd detachable. Ive used it once. I got it for Americade, b/c the forcast called for rain. It was worth every penny when i was riding in the rain. I dont think i will ever use it unless im going on a trip and its going to rain.

I'm 6' 2" and have the tall shield on my 09 bones. When I had the 1925 saddle on, at 65 I had buffeting issues. Now I'm riding lower with a mustang touring saddle, no more buffeting. If you are under 6 foot, and have the tall shield, you should be good. Mine is detachable, so if I want to cruise the town, I can.

Looks like I'm late to the party...again.

I'll reference a movie for you: Wild Hogs. John Travolta got hit by a crow on the highway (best part of the movie, by the way) and still proceeded to the very end WITHOUT a windshield. Granted, it was a movie, not real life. BUT, a windshield is not for those that care about the look of the bike, and in my case, safety. I can't see a thing through one...glare, that funky line that separates the real world from the screen world, and all the nasty bugs I hit on the highway. I know the bugs land on me, but it's easier to wash a shirt than a whole windshield.

I don't know...I've only tried a windshield once, almost wrecked and decided never again. That squiggly line messes me up more than anything!

The chances of getting hit by a bird are pretty slim...

Just a thought...if you're getting glare and having a hard time cleaning nasty bugs off your windshield, you're using the wrong cleaner and your windshield is likely now hazy. I use Plexus and it dissolves bug guts and polishes the windshield crystal clear with a microfiber cloth in seconds. Never ever ever ever use Windex on it. Windex is great for glass and chrome but will ruin plexiglass.

Plexus is hands down the best stuff I've used.

Yep, Plexus is what I use...but, as I said, I've only used a windshield once and it felt dangerous to me. Simply don't like the usage, or looks.
