Default Cross Bones sissy bar

Ok guys I've been searching for about an hour. I saw a thread once that had pictures where someone had trimmed the sissy bar so it would fit without re-locating the turn signals. Does anyone have the pics or a link to the thread. I'm getting ready to do this and want to take another look at the pics before I start cutting. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

i just did that to my crossbones...your best bet is to install the new bolts and "spacer"....mount the front part of the sissy bar and slowly bring it down to the back...you'll see exactly where it will slightly hit the rear turn signals...from there just trim it a bit until it doesnt hit on either side...i wanna say you have to trim about a an 1/8 of the back edge at an angle....i used a craftsman grinder and attached a cut wheel...the whole installation only took like about 40 minutes including the trimming...it really isnt a big deal at all!

I posted the original on the trim. Got it form my dealership(the tip). Roost is right just do a mock install and you will see that just a little needs trimed. Wont take anytime at all and looks alot better than the relocation kit.Good Luck!

I made my own sissy bar. Materials, and powdercoating cost about $60. Turned out good

Thanks for the info, I got it trimmd down and mounted up. Looks alot better than the relocation kit IMO. I'm riding down to daytona this weekend so I'm gonna touch it up with some spray paint but next week gonna have it re-powder coated. This place in town quoted me 35 bucks, which seems very reasonable.

I hate putting this stuff on there, I like the solo look alot more, but that was the barter for the wife letting me get the bones. She has been nagging me about it every day since I bought it, lol. Everytime she see's a bike with a sissy bar and back seat she has to point out that the person riding that bike must care about their girl, lol. Whatcha gonna do...
