I just bought an 06 Night Train last week and the deal was too good to pass up but there are a couple of things that need to be replaced because obviously the bike slept outside for most of its life.
First is my hub, it is pitting pretty bad but instead of getting a new hub I was wondering if I could get it powder coated. Has anyone done this? or know if it can be done? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sure it can be done. The wheel will have to be taken apart (de-laced) and the bearings removed... that's all there is to it.
Check with your local HD dealer and as many indy shops as you can for the best powder coat shop in your area. They deal with those types of shops and can tell ya who's good and who to stay away from.
Cool, thanks. Do you know what price may be good for each de-lace, powdercoat and relace? I would really hate to get ripped off, if you know what I mean.
