Price is the first consideration. Don't expect anyone to reimburse you for the chrome and extras on your bike. Hard to describe, but some folks may be be turned off by the "glam" of your bike...tan leather seat, whitewalls, overloaded description. Just a matter of preference, but taking off some of this and selling it separately on eBay may get more bucks. Time of year and location is also real. Not too many people up north looking to buy a bike as the temperature drops. Had one bike that I couldn't sell for $9K in December, but sold for $13.4K in March. Just how it is. 26K miles is also not a low mileage bike in many people's minds. If you really want to sell it now, it has to be a real bargain.

hard sell I sold my 91 a year ago for 8k way to pretty and it took a long time to find a buyer with my taste, also consider msrp on a new fatboy or delux, you can get a 08 HD in newengland depending on the model for $1500-$3000 under msrp and it is only october
not to mention it is way easy to finance a new bike than an old one.
There is always cash guys out there but they hold out in this market.
next year it will be worse as it gets older
used HDs not what they used to be sorry and good luck.
i think the real $$ for you very nice ride is 12k ish
people will buy nwe for 2500 more and have a blank slate to start with

That is a lot of bike for $13k. Very nice! Some buyers, perhaps more buyers than we think, and myself included until recently, have no clue about what that bike is all about. In a simple persons mind, it is a carbed 02 with some add ons and 26000 miles...
imo - patience is required unless you need the money now. And as mentioned before, if you need money now, consider making it as stock as possible, selling the add ons separately and lowering the price a bit.

I wish you the best of luck. It is a sweet and unique bike.

Even before the economic meltdown, the used market prices were way down from a few years ago. If possible, I'd wait til the first warm day of Spring and put it up for sale again. That's when bikers really have the fever for a new bike and are ready to buy. Also, the economy may turn around a little by then..

3 weeks is not that bad. I have been watching an ad for 2 months now on an 04 Heritage (black) with less than 4K miles and a claimed $5000 in extras. It is listed for $12,500. Last I checked had not sold yet, and that is in sunny Southern California where we don't have a "riding season". Times are tough now. Be patient or go with the Father-In-Law option. I sure wish I had some extra cash. There are plenty of good deals out there, yours being one of them.
