removal of console??????
Im having a new tank bib made for my deluxe to match my seat .I hade my seat recoverd with ostrich and leather. I need to remove my tank bib and it does not tell me in my manual .I believe you just remove the acorn nut and the console lifts up and there are nuts under it. I just want to be sure before I do it.

the bib has two holes punched in it and they slip over little studs under the console. You dont have to completely remove the nut, you can loosen it enough to get the bib off. But its no big deal to remove the nut and lift the rear of the console.

Pull up a little on the console to put pressue on the bolt which locks into a bracket on the gas tank. It gets bent because the nut is over tightened.
