I am doing a handlebar swap on my 2005 FLSTN and just wanted to thank you for this post with the pictures you made. This will sure make the job easier I hope. Did you ever do a post regarding your wiring mainly to do with the deutsche connectors? My main concern is what has to come off the front connector to get at the clips holding the wires in. There is a block plate or something in there.
I am not swapping bars but I am going to try and go with some internal throttle and maybe clutch (if possible) as well as braided cables, I will also be redoing the wiring when I get a new headlight and running lights, so I thank you very much for the post as I am very new to bike work.
I do have one quesiton as I will probably just be going with some nice look braided cables while I save up for the very expensive switch to internals, how do I figure out what length of cables I need with out taking the old ones off first?
I have an '02 faboy, I am almost certain the bars are not stock but again I am still very new to all this and still learning the bike in my sig is the one in question if that helps any.
