I've got a question for you fellow Heritage owners.....What kind of mileage & or range are you guys seeing before your low fuel light comes on? After I fill my tank it's reading about 140 miles per tank on the range guide displayed. Curious what others are seeing. How far can you travel on a tank?
My '07 gets 42-45mpg on the surface streets and 50-55mpg on the interstate at 70mph. I try not to run over 180 miles on a tank of fuel. I've ridden 200 miles on one tank, but I was VERY uncomfortable pushing it that far.
Usually the light will come on around 160 miles into a tank. That leaves me about 40 miles to find a station. In town I'll average about 36 to 40 mpg depending on how much stop and go I do. On the hiway it'll go up to 40 to 45 depending on speed and terrain. I just filled up today with the speedo on 196 miles and it took 4.3 gallons. Could of gone another 18 before pushing it home.
I have the cheaper version of your bike !! --no bags or windshield--called a Deluxe and I like "Other Sheep" get somewhere around 160 to 180 miles per fill up--any further and Iam afraid of walking !! All mileage seems to be dependant upon where I set the Air Fuel Ratio !!!!...................
At factory of about 14.7/1 I get around 50-55 mpg, that makes my bike run hot though.......so I run a 13.8/1 and it all works out !!
I typically get 44 mpg or so. When I fill up, the range usually says I have 206 to 209 left. My fuel light comes on when I have 36 miles left. I usually have 10 more miles than the range tells me I do.
I've found it to be pretty spot on. Each time I've filled up and calculated my mileage, it ends up being accurate. For example, if the range tells me I have 12 miles left, I'll end up putting in 4.5 gallons...so, 1/2 gallon at 44 mpg is the 12 on the gauge plus the 10 fudge factor, actually having 22 miles left.
The most I've gone on a tank is 206 miles....waited to see the range go to "lo"...it does this when you get below 10.....went a few more miles and hit the next station. Put in 4.8 gallons...so I still had .2 in the tank.
I don't normally run it that low of course...usually I hit the first station I see when the fuels light comes on, depending where I am.
I am getting 40 miles locally and 42 -- 43 mpg, on Interstates at 70 mph.

That's exactly what I get with my 103" SE Fat Boy. I am happy with the mileage, but I was surprised that I don't get more of a difference between locally and the Interstate. Can not say how well my fuel gage works. I always go by the odometer.

My mechanical gauge is very accurate for a 4 gallon tank....once it bottoms out on E, the fuel light comes on saying I have 1 gallon left. So, actually it should be reading 1/5th of a tank left.
