Go for the Rocker... It will grab the attention of all the cute babes in Bangkok or Phuket (watch out from the L. Boys :-)). It's a sweet looking bike that rides great.. (just change the seat as it's not comfy)
test rode both at HD test ride day. CVO broke down but i has a chance to ride both I went with the rocker.
[]Every other HD is the same old, same old. Ya know what i mean?(oh boy, the last statement is my opinion only and as the saying goes "opinions are like a$$ h01e$ every body has one)
Well, I own a 03 FXSTDI and 04 FXSTSI, so I can somewhat relate to both bikes you are looking at.
1.The Rocker, most definitely took some getting used to, but the more I see it and have contemplated customizing it with not necessarily ridiculous parts, but with some simple changes, like a newer front wheel (custom mag)and possible inverted front end, new style headlight and handle bars, the chrome and custom paint the sheet metal, along with some trick exhaust. I think it would be a fine scoot.
On the negative side though the Rocker is falling in value fast and can be had for easily 3-5k below sticker, so you might want to think long term or how warm you want your bath.
2. The new SE Springer is custom right out of the box, no doubt and I believe nobody in their right mind would seriously change much on it as it is truly a work of art IMHO ( It has already made older SE Springers look very dated) again IMHO.
On the negative side, yes there will be more than one similar on the road, but, that can be said for Corvettes, Ferrari's and such. Who cares this bike is sweet! IMHO.
Which ever you decide, I am jealous, but I need comfort and neither of these scoots are distance machines with the seats that come mounted stock on them and to put a giant " Saddlemen seat" on one, should get you at least a year in the slammer IMHO. ( Nothing like seeing a nice custom scoot with a couch perched on the top)
Be sure and send some pictures of riding in Thailand, that should be interesting.
