no this is a different noise, its not the low tone whine, its loud and sounds like a vac leak or screaching sound! most noticeable a few seconds after start up or coming to a stop. and it doe not do it all the time!!
Yeah rip, I know what you mean. It is probably a hole in the fuel pick up hose in your tank. Mine sounded like liquid spraying in my tank as the fuel pump cycled. It was more noticable with less fuel in the tank. Mine was under warranty still. This is not a common problem, but not necessarily uncommon either. I had some guys on here help me diagnose mine, took it to the dealer and they fixed it in two hours. Good luck.
Don't know what year your bike is or how many miles. However, if it is the hose it is really an easy job to fix it. My 04 Deuce started squealing and it turned out to be the bearings in the fuel pump. Again it is really easy to replace the pump.
Most likely a hole in the pick up hose in the tank. It is common at or about 20K miles or ? years. Make sure when you purchase the hose kit, that you change the fuel filter also. It first happend to me on my '03 heritage at 22K miles. The dealer said that fuel filter change is reccommended at 20K.
wow took out pump and there was three pencil lead sized holes in the line! $35.00 and its fixed!! until the next 18 thousand miles i guess!! took bike for a ride and realized it was running a little weak before i put the new line on! thank for the help!!!
