Default I need your advice about this wheel guys !

Got my new Arlen Ness rear wheel and it looks like the chrome is chipped on the inside of the wheel (where the inner tube would go).

Guys I need your help here. It doesn't look right to me (check out the pics). I know it wont be seen at all, nor will it make any contact with the road but i'm afraid that it is going to cause the chrome on the rest of my wheel to eventually chip.

What do you guys think? Am i over reacting? Is it normal? I'm pissed off man....how does a company like Arlen Ness ship out something like this???!!!

the last picture is the area where the spots are in

I wouldn't sweat it, I have seen worst on the inside of wheels and backside of wheels that have been chromed. It will not affect the outside of the wheel.

I wouldn't think it would affect the outer part, but if your not satisfied nows the time to exchange it. I know is a PIA but if your worried about it now then .......

definately not the worse I've seen either...use to work for a plating company and that is within passable range...but as was said if you're not happy about it now would be the time to take care of it...last week I got my new mirrors in from Debrix Cycle...one of them was scratched a bit and they have already shipped me a new one... it's just a matter of having to wait again...LOL...and we all hate that

you guys don't think it's going to turn into a problem down the line?

what i am worried about it that those four little spots might turn into huge spots which will eventually make their way out to the outer part of the wheel causing the chrome on the outside of the wheel to crack as well.

i don't know much about chrome so i'm just assuming that's what'll happen.

it shouldn't work it's way to the outside... but if it's going to keep you up at nights send it back and get yourself one that you are happy with...after all I'm sure you paid a good dollar for it and you should get what you paid for

Take it back now and get another one. It's obviously bothering you or you wouldn't have brought it up. If you don't change it, it's going to eventually get to you and you'll be saying "I should have........".

I just have this un-easy feeling about it becoming a problem later down the line. So i guess i'm gonna be sending the wheel back. It just sucks man cause I waited two weeks to get this thing and now I'm gonna have to wait longer to ship it there and have it shipped back to me. WTF, I'll see what Arlen Ness has to say about this.

By the way, I got these parts from Lewis Custom Cycles and I just have to give Ronnie a shout out man. The guy has been nothing short of AWESOME trying to help me fix this problem with the wheel....... that's on top of giving me a great deal on the wheel, both rotors and pulley.

Here are pics of what the wheel, rotors and pulley look like.

If you guys have any other input on the condition of the wheel I would love to hear it even though i think i'm gonna be shipping it back to Ness.

I have experience with chrome wheels on cars and i can tell you i have seen much worse in this inside area. Personally i would not be afraid it will come outside, however i would request discount at least or new wheel. BTW its awesome wheel.
