I'm looking at buying ths Bike there asking $8900. The bike is a 2007 FXSTBI Night train it has a salvaged title, 1600miles as you can see in the pics it was hit in the front. The frame is ok the tank is good the tire holds air and the wheel may be bent but it looks ok. It will need new forward controls and forks. The bars and risers are ok but need to be adjusted and the primary cover is cracked.
I would have that bike checked over very carefully before even considering it. I have a feeling that parts were added after the accident in order to disguise the true extent of damages. For example, it's difficult to image how the front end could have taken such a whallop to bend it up so badly, yet the front wheel is intact and the tire still holds air.
So goes the story a buddy of a buddy bought a bike like that. Hit in the front. Replaced the front end with an aftermarket and whatever else it needed. Looked perfect. Anytime he took it over 50MPH it started to shimmy. Changed tire, rim to no avail. Turned out the neck/frame had a slight SOMETHING (no one ever figured it out). The bike was worth crap.
Plus side was he eventually got a rolling chassis and built a nice chopper.
I would check prices of damaged parts before any decision. What looks like great deal in begining might become nightmare at the end. And i would not pay more than 50% of market value of not damaged one.
asking too much $$$ for it in this current market. for what you'll have to put into it in parts & labor, you can buy one that isnt wrecked. last year me & a friend rebuilt a "totalled" '02 electraglide into a streched custom bagger and had nothing but problems with mass. d.o.t. trying to get the bike registered and re-titled. took 4 trips to state police inspection station to get an ok. they want reciepts and pics of everything you did. good luck with whatever you decide to do though...
Personally, and it's just me....I would never knowingly buy a wrecked vehicle. There's just way too many out there never wrecked....and you know they're never the same even when repaired.
Times are tough these days people are looking to unload their bikes, you can find a better deal out there without any problems. I'd keep shopping around...
But to answer your question, it's worth more than any metric bike that isn't wrecked haha! J/K
